WHY?
Why do passengers, oops sorry Customers do this?
Stand on the edge of the curb as the bus pulls into the stop.Do they hope to be
hit by the driver’s nearside mirror or the whole bus in order to make a claim?
Some even leap off the curb into the road but unbeknown to them they have just
lit a fuse for several other people. A professional driver will of course stop
short of the person/s or steer slightly away form the kerb.
This now results in verbal gunfire from the bus behind not being able to make
full use of the stop. The 87 year old with walking stick and shopping bag now
has to perform a long jump to the platform, the mum with two young children and
a pushchair with nineteen Carrier bags hanging from it, performs a wheelie in
the hope that the front wheels make contact with the platform.
The original offender/s of course were the first to board and are now seated
wondering whats taking so long. The 87 year old, the mum and her children,
everyone else that's now boarded all look at you in disgust, verbal abuse echos
round the cab and they go off wondering did his license come with the collection
of tokens from the Cornflakes.
