I was driving
a service 23 today with a bus load of 'auld codgers' down Hanover Street, when
i'm tapped on my shoulder by a little old lady. She offers me a handful of
peanuts, which i gratefully accepted.
After about 5
minutes, she taps me on the shoulder again and she hands me another handful of
peanuts. She repeated this gesture about five more times.
When she is
about to hand me another batch, i ask the little old lady, "Why don't you eat
the peanuts yourself ?"
"We can't chew
them because we've no teeth", she replied.
puzzled, i
ask, "Why do you buy them then?"
The old lady
replied, "We just love the chocolate around them."
It pays to be
careful around old people.
