Dear Colleagues
I'd like to ask you to
vote for me as your Workers Director. I have
proven several times that I will speak up for my colleagues, and that I
have the best interests of all workers at heart. Some of you may
remember my letter to the Evening News about the Transport Ministers
visit, and also my 'Wee Bob' campaign to make sure everyone fully
understood the facts about the recent lieu day offer.
When I first read the notice about the Workers Director I was surprised,
to be honest I didn’t even know we had such a person, certainly I don’t
remember ever having heard anything from them. This got me thinking and
started me researching into the role of workers directors in general.
One of the key duties of a Workers Director is to be an effective two
way communication link. I feel that this role is perhaps not being fully
explored at the moment and would like to be able to report back (to all
employees) on what's happening in the board room. I'm sure that
employees would be happier, and the company better served, by an
improved system of information exchange. This would hopefully cut down
on rumour-mongering and drivers having to read about changes to the
company in the local paper.
Those who know me, know that I am not afraid to speak out about anything
that concerns me. If you vote for me as Workers Director you can rest
assured that I will do my very best to put the workers point of view
across in the board room.
Thanks for taking the time to read this. I hope that even if I am not
voted in myself the winning candidate will perhaps take these ideas on
board.
