Whats all this shite about lost property now.Seems that you cant claim it back for the paltry sum of £2 but something like 30% of its value.Reports suggest lost property handed in has plummeted because of this policy which was apparently dreamt up by some well known manager. What i'd like to know is what happens to cash which is handed in....is it kept by the company or given to charity which in my eyes is tantamount to the charge 'Theft by Finding'.If cash is handed into the police station the amount deducted by the police as a reward to the finder is 10% of the total. If on the other hand it is not claimed after a statute 6 months then the amount found is handed over in total to the person who found it.I'd like to know how much cash is handed in to the lost property department which is unclaimed and retained by the company....i think we would all get a surprise how much it comes to. does it disappear down a great big hole ? what are your thoughts on this ?
